In Māori mythology, Tāwhirimātea is the God of Weather, the son of Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) and Ranginui (Father Sky). He is the thunder and lightning, wind, clouds and storms.
Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Maori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride. Pounamu is a gift from the heart.
